The Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) is hosting "Gardens for Peace" on Sunday, September 8, 2024, as part of the North American Japanese Garden Association’s initiative to promote peace through Japanese gardens. The event takes place in BBG's renowned Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden and includes several free programs with garden admission.

From noon to 1:00 p.m., there will be mini tours of the Japanese garden, departing every five minutes. These 20-minute guided walks will highlight the garden's design elements, originally created by Takeo Shiota in 1914.

Additionally, visitors can participate in a drop-in Japanese woodblock printing workshop with artist Sato Yamamoto between noon and 2:00 p.m. No prior registration is needed, and the workshop allows attendees to create their own prints, including patterns inspired by the Gardens for Peace initiative.

Regular admission is $22 for adults and $16 for seniors and students, while children under 12 and members get in for free. Be sure to check the BBG website for any updates, particularly in case of inclement weather(
