In the spirit of peace and courage, a paper crane folding activity will take place at JACCC on August 6th, the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. The family-friendly activity begins at 12 noon, prior to the matinee performance of Peace on Your Wings, a musical that tells the story of Sadako Sasaki and her middle-school classmates in 1950s post-war Hiroshima and how they folded more than 1,000 paper cranes, which legend said would grant the wishes of the folders.

Our goal is to fold 1,000 paper cranes in two hours, which will be brought to Hiroshima when "Peace on Your Wings" travels there in September on a mission of peace and connection through the arts. The origami crane folding lesson is free and open to all.
