An Invitation to the Community Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities Inc. to host Community Bell-Ringing for Peace.

Please arrive promptly and bring a bell and join us.

In 2020, Cupertino-Toyokawa Sister Cities Inc. (CTSC) held a city-wide Bell Ringing for Peace Zoom event  (see below video) recognizing 75 years of peace between the US and Japan. In addition to the well-known atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII, Cupertino’s sister city of Toyokawa, Japan was also bombed as it was the location of Japan’s Naval Armory.

Japan Was Bombed

This year, CTSC will hold the fourth annual event to ring bells for Peace and we would like the community to join us. Please arrive for the prompt start of a short ceremony at 2 pm on Sunday, August 6th, 2023. You will be able to easily spot our group from the parking lot on Alves, behind the Quinlan Community Center.

Please bring a small bell to ring (see picture), if you have one. Casual dress.
