Hinamatsuri is a Japanese spring festival celebrated by families who have girls, wishing their daughters good health and growth. Beautifully handcrafted traditional dolls representing the emperor, empress, attendants, and musicians were displayed for honor and posterity.

JAMsj celebrates Hinamatsuri (Girls Day) 2020 with 3 exciting events!!

Beginning Saturday February 29, 2020 through Sunday March 8, 2020, the JAMsj Rotating Exhibit area will display a variety of Girls Day Doll displays.

JAMsj will host our Annual Hinamatsuri Kid's Crafts Day on Sunday March 1, 2020. Children can make Kokeshi Dolls, Origami and many crafts.

On Saturday March 7, Pam Yoshida will give a presentation on the traditions and history of Hinamatsuri Girl's Day Dolls.
