Hina Matsuri, Doll’s Festival or Girls’ Festival, is celebrated on March 3rd in Japan. A set of dolls representing the emperor and empress and their court (three ladies-in-waiting and five musicians) is set up in the family home to mark the occasion.
Join us for a fun-filled day of craft activities celebrating the Doll Festival, Hina Matsuri! Make a doll festival mobile to hang in your room, emperor and empress origami, or a doll display decoration to add some doll festival flair to your room! Come see a traditional Doll Festival display, customarily set out by families with daughters to wish good health and happiness for girls. Get the chance to meet and learn about Miss Gunma, the Japanese Friendship Doll, who turns 91 this year!
