Buddhist Temple of Marin does not plan an in-person 2023 Obon service or Odori Celebration.
Marin Temple will only hold virtual services.

We are hopeful a return in 2024.

PREVIOUS EVENT INFORMATION

Obon/Shotsuki/DFS/Obon dance/Otoki event will take place on Sunday, July 14th starting at 2:00 pm. Obon Service followed by Obon Dancing and Pot-luck. Service led by Rev. Kengu Kobata and special guest speaker.  Traditional Buddhist celebration honoring the departed spirits of one's ancestors. The one-hour service will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by Obon Odori, a Japanese style of line dancing. Dancing will last about an hour. Afterward, we will share a Potluck meal together. Bring your favorite dish to share.
