Leading scholars of Japanese American studies will explore how texts, faith, identities, and communities are transplanted, translated, and transformed in a Japanese America positioned beyond national boundaries. This one-day conference, held at the Japanese American National Museum, highlights the significance of the positionally of both the subject and object of Japanese American studies.
Topics range from mixed-race studies to publication culture to Japanese American Buddhism.
