2024 Annual Gardena Buddhist Church Obon Festival Event is Coming in August for 2 days.
Obon is a time to express our gratitude and joy for the causes and conditions and people (past and present) that have made our lives possible. This is especially true for our temple since we are celebrating our 100th Anniversary. 

This is the Largest Japanese Obon Festival in the South Bay Area.

*Bon Odori dancing and Taiko is on the street (Don't miss this)

August 3 - 4, 2024 (2 Days)

Festival Times
Saturday & Sunday: 3 pm - 9pm

Festival Schedule for Sat & Sun
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Taiko Performance
5:00 pm - 9:00 pm: Bingo (Sat only)
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Bon Odori Dance

Where Can You Park?
Street parking is available, and you can park on any of the residential streets. While you may need to park a bit farther away, the walk isn't too long, so don't worry about it. Please be sure to read the parking signs to avoid any violations.

Where will be the Bon Odori Dance?
The street of the Bon Odori dance is on Halldale Ave, this street will be close for the dancing.

How Large is Gardena Obon Festival?
Gardena Obon is the largest southern California Obon for Bon Odori dancing.  The entire street will be close for dancers. 

What Entertainment will there be at Gardena Obon festival?
There will be live Taiko before the Bon Odori Dancing. 

What Do People Wear at Garden Obon Festival?
People can wear a yukata which is a type of kimono that is worn in the summer.
