Asian Art Show at The Pepper Tree Gallery - FresnoNEW

The Pepper Tree Gallery in Fresno, California, will be hosting "Asian Art @ The Pepper Tree Gallery" from August 18 - September 18, 2011, and we would like everyone to join us! This event will feature a juried exhibition of art representing the vast and exquisite themes of asian culture expressed through art and the unique techniques, styles, and materials utilized through the ages lik...e brush painting on rice paper, caligraphy, woodblock prints, textiles, lacquer painting, inkstone, silk painting, embroidery, batik, coffee painting, watercolor, terracotta, gouache, kanji, as well as modern art movements like manga and superflat. Our vision is to discover, embrace, and exhibit the finest art and artists working in this dynamic field. Opening Night and Artist Reception will be held on the night of Art Hop north, Thursday, August 18, 5pm-9pm, and will feature live music, performers, appetizers and wine served, all with an asian flare. Several artists displaying in the show and members of the gallery will be mingling with the crowd. This promises to be a gala event, mark your calendars and get ready to be immersed in asian art and culture. Works will continue to be displayed in The Pepper Tree Gallery until September 18, 2011.

ARTIST SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Theme
Asian Styled Art of any Kind (ancient, traditional, contemporary, modern, conceptual, etc. with an asian theme)

Eligibility
-Original art done by the artist submitting.
-Prints of original art done by the artist submitting.
-Acceptable mediums are oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pen and ink, graphite, color pencil, charcoal, photography, digital art, mixed media, hand pulled printmaking, and sculpture.
-Work must be framed and wired ready to hang.
-Each piece must be clearly labeled with the artist name and contact information, title, medium, size, and price.
-All work must be for sale, and will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.

Calendar
-Submissions and submission fees must be received on or before August 6, 2011.
-All those who have entered will be judged on August 8 and receive a response by August 9, 2011.
-All chosen artists work must be delivered to the gallery no later than August 15, 2011.
-All chosen artists will be featured at a special "Asian Art @ The Pepper Tree Gallery" exhibition as part of Art Hop, August 18, 2011, from 5pm - 9pm.
-Unsold art is to be picked up by September 18, 2011.

Best of Show Prizes
1st Place - 3 months free gallery space.
2nd Place - 2 months free gallery space.
3rd Place - 1 month free gallery space.

ALL SUBMITTED IMAGES MUST ACCURATELY REPRESENT THE ARTWORK TO BE DISPLAYED. IF ARTWORK TO BE DISPLAYED DOES NOT MATCH THE IMAGE SUBMITTED YOUR ENTRY MAY BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE SHOW.

Online Submission Guidelines
-Submit up to 5 images in .JPG format
-Label the image using first and last name and the number that corresponds to the entry form image (e.g. josephsmith1.jpg for first image).

Be sure to include "Asian Art Show Submission" in the subject line and the following information for each entry:
1. Image File Name (e.g. josephsmith1.jpg)
2. Title of Work
3. Medium
4. Size of Work (framed size for 2-D or dimensions for 3-D)
5. Price of Work
6. Indicate whether you prefer to pay via paypal or by regular mail.
7. Paypal users will receive an email invoice requesting payment.
8. By mail send a check or money order payable to:

9. Online applications that have not paid the submission fee by submission deadline will not be reviewed.

Acceptable Mail-in Submissions
All mail-in submissions must include a self-addressed stamped envelope or submission will not be returned.

Please submit up to 5 images on CD in .jpg format or prints no larger than 8x10 or photographs no larger than 8x10. Prints should be clearly labeled on the back with the artists name, title and medium of work.

Submission Fee & Commission Agreement
There will be a $25 submission fee for up to 5 images to be considered for exhibition. The fee must be paid before August 8, 2011.

This is a non-refundable fee.

Chosen artists work will remain on display for sale and any art sold will be commissioned by The Pepper Tree Gallery at a percentage of 30% to the gallery, 70% to the artist.
