The evolution of Japanese gardens in pre-modern Japan and modern America is explored in this lecture by Kendall Brown, professor of Asian art history at California State University, Long Beach. The program is the first in a new series of lectures on the history of Japanese gardens that will lead up to the centennial of The Huntington's own Japanese Garden in 2012. The series honors USC Professor Emeritus Noboru Inamoto and is jointly sponsored by the USC Emeriti Center College and The Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa. Free; no reservations required.
