One of the most beloved and dramatic operas, this is a classic tale of colliding hearts and cultures set in 19th Century Japan. Internationally acclaimed soprano Patricia Racette is a geisha tragically torn between two worlds and forced to make the ultimate sacrifice. Company Music Director Donald Runnicles conducts the S.F. Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this stirring production featuring some of Puccini's most popular music. (In Italian; English subtitles)
Each of the four operas in the series were digitally recorded with multiple cameras and are played back in high-definition Blu-Ray with stereo sound.
