The true significance of the Obon Festival is to honor our ancestors and those who passed on before us in order to lead a life of gratitude and appreciation.Memorial lanterns hang at the festival to honor them and to help light their way home.

Obon Festival Schedule
Obon Dance starts at 7:30PM.� This is preceeded by the walking in of the Hatsubon families. Hatsubon families are encouraged to dance in memorium to their loved one who had passed during the past year. Over 300 Memorial Lanterns, with the names of love ones who have passed, are hung around dance area.

Food service will start at 2PM.� You will find among the choices: beef teriyaki sticks, chicken teriyaki, gyoza, koroke, sushi, chicken�and somen salad, shaved ice, teriyaki burgers.��Soda, water,�and beer�is available.

Come to see live entertainment,�game booth for kids, �and participate in a raffle where the Grand Prize is $2500 dollars.

Obon is a time to rededicate ourselves to the Buddhist way of life by reflecting upon the love, affection, compassion and virtues that our parents and others who passed on before us, while they were still alive... a time to pause and reflect upon the hardships and sacrifices that they made for our sake, so that we may clearly understand the interdependency of all life and things.
