2023 Los Angeles Angels with Shohei Ohtani Schedule (Remaining Games)NEW

As of Sept 2, 2023.  Shohei Ohtani will be playing in the remaining games of the 2023 season, but only as a designated hitter. He will not be pitching due to a UCL tear in his elbow.

Ohtani is currently batting .258 with 33 home runs and 70 RBIs. He is also leading the American League in strikeouts with 123. The Angels are currently in fourth place in the American League West, 11 games behind the first-place Houston Astros. They have a slim chance of making the playoffs, but Ohtani's presence as a designated hitter will give them a better chance.

Ohtani is expected to undergo surgery to repair his UCL in the offseason. He is expected to be ready for the start of the 2024 season.
