The talk series “5 Dimensions of Japanese Architecture” is organized around five concepts unique to Japan to show the purposeful planning of Japanese architecture. Renowned Japanese architects and scholars will speak at each symposium about their ideas on architecture and the resulting projects.

The second session, with lecturers Takaharu Tezuka and Yui Tezuka (Tezuka Architects) and Don Choi (Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo) and moderated by Hitoshi Abe (UCLA), addresses the concept of「矩」KANE.

One of Takaharu and Yui Tezuka's incredible projects is the Fuji Kindergarten in Tachikawa, Tokyo. It was awarded numerous prizes, including the Moriyama RAIC International Prize and UNESCO's Global Award for Sustainable Architecture. Takaharu's TEDx Talk about this amazing school facility recorded 7th in the world for the number of views in 2015!
