Located in Georgtown, Kentucky, Yuko-En on the Elkhorn, The Official Kentucky-Japan Friendship Garden, is a four season garden, open daily from dawn until dusk and is free to the public.

Yuko-en on the Elkhorn is a 5 1/2 acre garden featuring Bluegrass landscaping framed in a Japanese style stroll garden. Enjoy paths, waterfalls, Koi ponds, arched bridges, Elkhorn Creek, a Japanese style raked Stone Garden and Tea House. The Kiln House is a rustic structure built in part from recycled tobacco barn timbers. It contains a raku kiln with viewing area and offers demonstrations monthly, weather permitting.

The Yuko-en Educational Villa is available for rental. It offers a unique setting for weddings, receptions, family reunions, renewal of vows, birthday parties, baby showers, business meetings, fundraisers, community events and workshops. The Villa, with its beautiful 270 degree view of the garden, will make your event memorable. To schedule private events at the Villa or outdoors in the garden or to schedule to a tour, please call 502.316.4554. Fees apply to events at the Villa and to some private outdoor events. Guided tours are free.

Please sign in at the gate so we can count your visit. Feel free to stroll on your own. While we are a dog friendly garden, please keep your dog leashed and clean up after your pet.
