In August, we look forward to gathering in person for a food, music and Obon Odori celebration of our ancestors.
This year marks the return to a more open full-day Saturday Obon with fun games, delicious food, live Taiko and music, Bonsai, Grandma's Treasure sales and much more. 

Starting early-June pre-order your special 2024 edition T-Shirts until July 6th.  Bags and a prons will be available for sale at the Obon.

August 3 - 4, 2024

Schedule & Times
Sat Aug 3: food is for sale 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm, no dancing
Sun, Aug 4: obon service is at 4:00 pm, dancing is 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Saturday August 3, 2024
• Food for sale in the PABT gym - 1-7pm
• Onsite dining in our "umbrella garden" open 1-8pm
• Craft beer, sake and wine sold
• Homemade Cookies and Desserts sold on site
• Games for children (and adults!)
• Enjoy live taiko and music
• Bonsai demonstrations and sales
• Grandma's Treasures sales

 Obon Odori from 4-6:30pm
• Prep and dancing in a casual setting
• Casual food items will be available for purchase (hot dogs, desserts, beverages)

PREVIOUS YEAR

Palo Alto Obon Festival Event features Bon Odori (folk dancing), live music and taiko and drinks/delicious food. Traditional dance, food, music and games for the whole family. It is a bright, charming event in the heart of the city for families and people of all ages.


This event is free and everyone is welcome.

Obon Festival  Times (Note different times)
Sat: 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm  (Food Only, No Dancing)
Sun: 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm (Dancing, No Food)

Obon Dancing
Saturday: No Dancing 
Sunday: 4:00 - 7:30pm Bon Odori Dancing
